Responsibility

ESG, CSR & Sustainability

Responsibility is built into how the Group operates as a business — from renewable energy and food security to workforce development and disciplined institutional governance.

Our Approach

Three commitments, one standard

The Group applies a consistent ESG framework across every company — environmental stewardship, social contribution and disciplined governance. Every company in the Group operates to ESG and sustainability standards, applied consistently from the holding company through each operating subsidiary.

Environmental

Climate-aligned development

Renewable energy, resource efficiency and low-carbon delivery — led by AXERENA’s solar, wind and storage portfolio and APIS’s ESCO and Energy-as-a-Service models.

Social

Skills, community & food security

Technical training and workforce development across the Group, food security through AGROSS, and broader community engagement.

Governance

Institutional integrity

Transparency, accountability and disciplined oversight applied consistently across every Group company and codified in our compliance framework.

Beyond ESG

Philanthropy runs through the Kelmendi Foundation

The Group’s corporate ESG above describes how Kelmendi Holdings operates responsibly as a business. Philanthropy is pursued separately, through the Kelmendi Foundation — an independent, non-profit, public-benefit institution established by the Kelmendi Family and Kelmendi Holdings Ltd., with its own Board of Trustees, perpetual endowment mandate and eleven strategic pillars. It operates at arm’s length from the Group’s commercial activities.

Frequently Asked Questions

ESG, CSR and sustainability

What is Kelmendi Holdings’ approach to ESG?
ESG is applied through the operating companies rather than as a standalone policy. AXERENA develops renewable generation, APIS delivers building-performance and energy-efficiency work, AGROSS supports domestic food security, and KST Institute provides independent technical assurance.
What is the relationship between Kelmendi Holdings and the Kelmendi Foundation?
The Kelmendi Foundation is an independent, non-profit public-benefit foundation (NGO) established under Law No. 06/L-043 of the Republic of Kosovo. It was founded by the Kelmendi Family together with Kelmendi Holdings Ltd. but is governed separately by its own Board of Trustees.
Does the Foundation only make grants?
No. In addition to grant-making, the Foundation may establish, own, operate, acquire or endow institutions — educational, healthcare, research, social-infrastructure and environmental — as part of its permanent endowment and mission assets.
How does the Group contribute to skills and employment?
NEXERA Polytechnic Institute is an open-enrolment technical institution serving Kosovo’s wider economy. Its curriculum is co-designed with employers across the market, and its graduates work for employers throughout the region, not only within the Group.

Built to last — for business and community alike

Sustainability and social impact are part of the Group’s long-term model, not an afterthought.
